Few things surpass the timeless beauty of natural fired clays.
This combined with their durability and ability to combine with the colours and moods in our life make them the perfect addition to our homes and surrounding landscapes.
The Australian Natural Tile Company has taken this age old material and crafted a series of products to enhance and compliment your architecture, blending both time-honoured and modern concepts.
These products are manufactured to the highest technical standards through the use of worlds best practice while maintaining their birthright of Earth , Fire & Water.
Australia being the worlds most weathered continent, is abundant in mineral resources, including rich clay & shale deposits laid down throughout the millennium.
These have been carefully selected by the skilled technicians of The Australian Natural Tile Company for colour and specification. Then blended and mixed before being extruded and fired at more than 1130 degrees centigrade.
The resulting products are ideal for use on indoor floors where they add warmth to the traditional plaster and rendered finishes on walls, providing a durable canvas that can be complimented further by the infinite colours and textures of beautiful rugs and matting.
It is advised that the tiles be sealed in all internal applications to protect their natural beauty from oil borne marks and stains. This can be done with modern highly effective sealing systems that not only seal the tile, but the entire floor, including the very porous grout joints that stain and often detract from ceramic tile installations.
The tile and paving produced and marketed by The Australian Natural Tile Company is the perfect finish for all outdoor entertaining areas, swimming pool copings and surrounds, driveways and public areas.
The tile which is 14mm in thickness must be laid on a concrete substrate of not less than 75 mm and usually incorporating a layer of steel reinforcing . It is recommended that a tile adhesive be used to fix the tile to the concrete as this produces the best bonding between the two layers. It is also possible to float the tile on a cement mortar bed if the concrete substrate is old and uneven.
However it is not recommended that this method be used by the "Do it Yourself " installer as levelling the tile can prove difficult if you are lacking in the necessary skills and experience.
